I've put over an hour's work into coloring that second sketch in Paint Shop Pro, and now, when I save, I'm getting the message "Not enough memory to complete operation. Close other applications and try again." No amount of operation closing will solve it. And, by the way, I have 4GB of memory, which is the maximum amount of memory Windows will support. I know what the problem is--a compatibility issue with Vista. See, the Paint Shop Pro version I'm using is 9. The current version is 11. I don't like the newer versions, because they were bought out by Corel and they totally suck now. I use the final version released by Jasc, the company that birthed the software in the nineties. I know, most every one is screaming "Use Photoshop!" I'm sure Photoshop is great, but it's not what I know. I have learned how to use Paint Shop Pro very well, and I don't want to give it up. I realize, too, that Photoshop is the standard, now, but if you try to tell me that it can do more than Paint Shop, you're misinformed. Comparing the two (pre version 10, I should say) was always pretty equal, like Coke or Pepsi, Windows or Mac. Unfortunately, I'm talking about a bygone era, and, as XP is finally giving way to Vista, so perhaps I should give up my Paint Shop Pro and adopt Photoshop (because there's no way I'm using Corel's Paint Shop. It's not even an option.).
So anyway, even as I look at it, I can consider that work lost. I think I'll just leave it in raw form, I do in many ways prefer that, anyway. Maybe I'll work on a new sketch now.
